Team members ( Nevena Čule, Ljiljana Brašanac-Bosanac, Ilija Đorđević, Goran Češljar, Aleksandar Lučić, Ljubinko Rakonjac) of the CEE2ACT Project from the Institute of Forestry (IOF) held the first meeting with the Alma Mons – Regional Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, Novi Sad on December 21, 2022. Guests were presented with the basic objectives of the project, and we discussed their inclusion as potential stakeholders in the National Bioeconomy Hub, which will be established between the 6th and 14th month of the project.
The goal of the CEE2ACT project is to empower more than 10 beneficiary countries in Central and Eastern Europe and beyond to develop strategies and action plans for the bioeconomy, through knowledge transfer and innovative management models, which enable the sustainability and resilience of society, and contribute to a better decision-making process, engagement society and innovation.
Serbia still does not have a strategy and action plans for the bioeconomy, but has a package of documents related to the bioeconomy in various sectors, which directly or indirectly deal with the concept of the bioeconomy. That is why the CEE2ACT project can be extremely important for Serbia, because based on the obtained results (tools) and guidelines, it can enable the implementation of this concept, as one of the seven key ways to achieve climate neutrality, identified in the European Clean Planet Strategy. Also, the Project can help Serbia join Europe on its way to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 within the framework of the European Green Deal.
