Conference on the perspective of the circular bioeconomy in Serbia in the APV Assembly

  • by

The International Conference “From linear to circular – bioeconomy – regional and local approaches” was held in the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, organized by the Regional Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises Alma Mons.
This international conference is the final event of the “GODANUBIO” project, which implements the partnership of 19 institutions from 10 countries of the Danube region, which represent the most important actors of the bioeconomization of the economy of those countries.
Opening the conference, the President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Ištvan Pastor, thanked the organizer of the meeting, Milica Vračarić, for her persistence and perseverance in this area from the moment Alma Mons was formed until today.
“I perceive today’s topic as reflections on the possibility of curbing gluttony and returning to normality. To curb the gluttony of large companies, to somehow reduce the issue of profit to the rationality of spending resources. “I think that today we are not in a good position on that issue, and the current crisis in Europe does not contribute to solving the problem,” Pastor said.
He added that due to all of the above, it is of key importance to discuss these topics at the regional and local level, because specifically in Vojvodina, only two percent of one ton of biomass is used, and only one bale of hay can replace 3.5 liters of oil. He said that it is important that today at the conference both politicians and businessmen are present, as well as businessmen, because only with their cooperation can the problem be solved.
