  • by

During the 91st International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad (the most famous fair manifestation of this type in the Western Balkans with a tradition of over 100 years) on May 20, 2024, an Expert Conference on “Sustainable Agriculture and Renewable Energy Sources” was organized. On behalf of the BIOECONOMY Cluster, Dr. Goran M. Vasić spoke about the Circular Economy in agriculture with special emphasis on the concept of circular bioeconomy and emphasized the importance of this concept in the future development of sustainable agricultural and economic production in Serbia. The activities that the members of the BIOECONOMIC Cluster will carry out during the implementation of the ongoing DECIDE (Digital Services for Circular Economy – a Toolbox for Regional Developers & SME) project are described in detail.

This Danube Region project with 16 international partners from ten countries along the Danube basin aims to help make the European economy greener and more digital by mid-2026. To this end, DECIDE aims to provide SMEs, start-ups and business developers in the Danube region with methods and tools for developing successful business models for the circular economy. These models are key to achieving the goals of the European Green Deal by making sustainable products the norm, finding ways to transform resource-intensive sectors and making the circular economy workable in practice. The Center for Digitization of the Stuttgart Region (ZD.BB) is the leading partner of this project, while the Regional Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises Alma Mons from Novi Sad is the partner from Serbia.
